Don't pay attention to those pics after the link. I was playing WipeOut HD again the other day on my PS3 and I took screeshots that look miles better than that. WipeOut HD was an incredible tour de force on the PS3 when it came out, and actually still looks impressive by today standards. It was one of those few 1080p @ 60fps games like Gran Turismo 5 & 6, so in a way I can't help but wonder what that remake will bring to the table beside WipeOut 2048. The horizontal resolution wil...
Pretty neat. I want that game, but I want the collector's edition with Yoshitaka Amano's illustration, and it seems to be getting the rare-and-cult treatment, perhaps because of this, as it's already fetching pretty high prices.
Impressive, it's almost like you're actually there! But is Kamuro-chou the only city (or rather district) we'll get to visit in Yakuza 6? With Yakuza 5 on the PS3 featuring 5 different districts in 5 different cities, i find it hard to believe they'd lock us in that Kamuro-chou district yet again which has just been seen too many times already.
Also, they need to work on that jittery stuff in the graphics when moving around, that looks last gen.
I agree, it's not great. Not very easy to see the difference on that vid. I hope Candyland.de will make some, as since I found out about them, it's crystal clear they make the best comparison vids on the internet, or youtube at least.
Also, I really hope Batman Arkham Knight will be patched to receive the Pro treatment.
I kinda take issue with them proclaiming that those required "little to no investment" as I recall having to buy the overpriced (I think it was 8, or even 9€, compared to the usual 3-4-5€) Playstation Magazine during the PS2 heydays to have a demo disc and the saves that came with it, with some which never worked. It did sell me Tekken 5 back in the day, though.
Batman Arkham Origins did a pretty poor job at introducing this villain (and the others) though. As a series, Arkham did a good job yes, but it did not give the full Batman experience: the Batmobile was only introduced in Arkham Knight for a start (even though that really kicked ass with all the different skins - love ya Tumbler! - along with the Batsuit skins), but we still couldn't drive it all the way to the Wayne manor, which wasn't even modellized, nor was the batcave, for crying...
A bit off-topic, but I'm gonna get LittleBigPlanet 3 on the PS4 when I have it, but I'm worried I may not be able to play online with people I know who have it on the PS3...
I can't wait for all those games, and Dreams also. I know Media Molecule is going to blow us away with that.
I actually think that now the biggest challenge when it comes to Final Fantasy and the people behind it, is going to be to try and release the episodic Final Fantasy VII Remake in its entirety during this gen. I have a hunch that the PS5 will be out long before they're done offering us the final part. I hope I'm wrong though.
Final Fantasy VI was truly a marvelous game. it was one of my first RPGs (second after Secret of Mana if my memory serves me correctly) and I remember playing it for hours on end without being able to put the controller down. It was pretty much as good as the legendary FF VII, and even better in places. Just toward the end, I felt it was a bit too dark and difficult, but it's still home to some of the most striking characters and events (the WW2-refering subtext with the cities occupied b...
There are only 4 Shoukans, or Titans??? Are they kidding or what? Where the hell is Bahamut?
Phew! 8.5/10, 9.0/10, 4.5/5... whatever happend to Square-ENix to make an FF game that scores so high? I remember watching the trailers on the japanese Blu-Ray of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and thinking to myself this was going to become some minor FF spin-off title like Crisis Core and stuff. Glad to see they proved me wrong!
I'm both surprised and pleased to see that Final Fantasy XV turns out to be a very good game apparently. i didn't expect that from Square-Enix anymore.
Apparently they're also letting people make their own interstellar ship in this update too. I hope we can make the Arcadia! :D
Until it was (much much) later brought to the PS3, TWITCH was also an exclusive feature of the PS4 (on consoles at least). It's fantastic to have an app entirely dedicated to VG and gamers that enable us to broadcast our gameplay live and receive messages from the people watching it. Too bad the messaging functionality didn't make it to the PS3, here's hoping it is, or will be, on the PS4. I'm gonna have a blast chatting with friends in Japan about the strategy to overcome Blo...
Same here, except: "Carole Bradshaw here I come!" XD
Cool. I'm probably gonna get mine before this Xmas or at the very beginning of next year, too. One thing I wonder is, considering I don't have a 4K TV yet, and I probably won't have one in the foreseeable future, is it still possible to enjoy (some of) the extra bells and whistles the Pro offers, but without setting its resolution to 4K and just 1080p instead?
No idea why you say that. No Man's Sky did the bulk of what it said it would do. The game may not be perfect, but it's an important game nonetheless, as it's gonna help show other devs that it's possible to dramatically expand the size of game worlds while making immersive 3D games, when until now most of those games featuring procedurally-generated levels were most of the time in 2D, which is no small feat. And apparently Hello Games are hellbent on improving on their game wi...
While I agree it's a very good game, I'm not sure it's the N°1 best game ever in the whole PS3 games portfolio. It's a survery on Famitsu, so of course the tastes expressed there are going to be very japanese, but personally I'd probably rather have voted for The Last of Us, or Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, or Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, or God of War III, or Motorstorm Pacific Rift.
Anyway, if that means the price of Demon's Souls Black Phantom Edi...
What exclusives? Arma 3? I'll take even Knack over that any time of the day.
-"Bu-bu-bubububutt Star Citizen..."
...is a technical demo, not a game.
